We have made the unfortunate decision to rehome our Komondor-Akbash-Pyrenees mix. With a few changes in our lives there is just not enough time to take care of her the way she needs it. She loves us dearly but she is not happy.
She loves kids and is very gentle with them (although likes to lick their faces but you can tell her to leave it), she is good with cats. We are not sure about other dogs, but she gets along well with our other dog. I think after a proper introduction it could work.
She does bark a lot, especially at night but also during the day if people or animals are close (normal for the breed). This is one big reason we are giving her away. We live quite close to our neighbors.
She also does not stay on our property unless constantly watched.
Both issues would probably get better with time, training and a lot of patience.
She knows the basic commands but is often very stubborn (also her breed).
We would like her to be on a big acreage and have a good life and maybe even guard some livestock (she has never been trained but all her breeds are livestock guardian breeds).
Some more details: She is fixed, needs her annual shots for this year still and her name is Amelia.
